think / think about / think of

think

think 可以同時作為及物動詞或不及物動詞，兩種的意思不同。如果要單獨使用 think，不加介系詞的話，後面必須接著說出所想的內容。

I think we should consider expanding our product line to attract a wider market.

我認為我們應該考慮擴大我們的產品線以吸引更廣泛的市場。
We think sales will increase by 15% after implementing the new pricing strategy.

們認為實施新定價策略後銷售量將成長15%。

可以向上述例句一樣，在 think 後面說出詳細的看法；也可以向下面的例句一樣，簡短地表達。

I don’t think so.

我不敢苟同。
I think it’s okay.

我覺得可行。

think about

think about 是「思考關於……」的意思，所以後面要接上主題。

Think about how the brand image will resonate with our target audience.

想想品牌形象將如何與我們的目標受眾產生共鳴。
I need to think about your proposal before making a decision.

在做決定之前，我需要考慮你的提議。

think of

think of 用於腦海中突然有想法靈光一閃的時候。但是在商業英語中，比起 think of，最好使用 think about，比較能傳達經過認真思考的意思。

I never thought of that approach to solving our budget issues.

我從未想過用這種方法來解決我們的預算問題。
Can you think of any improvements we could make to the current system?

你能想到我們可以對目前系統進行哪些改進嗎？

簡單地總結一下：

要表達意見(opinion)時，後面不加介系詞，直接使用 think 。
談論到正在考慮或關注的點子、想法(idea / topic)時，使用 think about。
提到突然浮現的新點子(new idea)時，使用 think of。

contact / call

contact

❌ 最常見的錯誤是在 contact 後面加上 to。

contact 後面要直接加上要聯絡的對象，並於 about 後面接著說具體的內容。

I need to contact to the sales team about our upcoming product launch.

我需要聯絡銷售團隊以了解我們即將推出的產品。
I'll contact to the customer about the delay in delivery to offer an apology and discuss possible solutions.

我將就交貨延遲問題聯繫客戶，表示歉意並討論可能的解決方案。

call

call 也是一樣，當作「聯絡某人」時，後面直接接想連絡的對象，不用使用介系詞。

I'll call to the client tomorrow to discuss the new project timeline.

明天我會打電話給客戶討論新的專案時間表。
I'll call to the supplier to inquire about the delivery status.

我會打電話給供應商詢問交貨狀況。

如果想要強調打電話聯絡某人，那麼你可以在 call 後面接上聯絡對象，之後繼續加介系詞 on。

更進一步想要強調打某個號碼的話則使用 call… at。

Please call me on my office phone at 10 AM for the team meeting.

請在上午 10 點撥打我的辦公室電話參加團隊會議。
Call me at this number.

familiar to / familiar with

familiar to 跟 familiar with 都用於描述對某事物的了解或熟悉程度，但在使用時稍有不同。

familiar to

familiar to 用來描述某個事物對某個人或群體而言是熟悉的、熟悉程度是對方主觀感受到的，通常在商業領域中用來討論工作內容、策略或專業知識。

This song is familiar to me.

這首歌對我來說很熟悉。
This method of team collaboration may not be familiar to new employees.

這種團隊合作的方式對於新員工來說可能不太熟悉。

familiar with

familiar with 通常用來表達對事物、概念或工作內容有一定的了解或熟悉。

I am familiar with this place.

我對這個地方很熟悉。
Are you familiar with the latest market trends in the tech industry?

你熟悉科技業的最新市場趨勢嗎？

by / until

商業事務中常需要談到某個企畫的期限，在英文中我們常使用 by 或 until 來表示「到……為止」。不過這兩個單字在字義上有微妙的不同，常常讓人搞混。

by

by 一般用於訂立一個期限(deadline)時，通常會與 start, over, done, complete, finish 等動詞一起使用。

This project needs to be done by Friday to meet the deadline.

該項目需要在周五之前完成才能在截止日期前完成。
The project deadline is set for Friday, so we need the proposals submitted by Thursday evening.

企劃截止日期定為週五，因此我們需要在周四晚上之前提案。

until

until 意味著持續進行的活動在某個時間發生變化，通常會與 continue, stay, work, study, sleep, remain 等動詞一起使用。

The sale will last until the end of the month.

促銷將持續到月底。
We won't finalize the contract until we receive the necessary approvals.

在獲得必要的批准之前，我們不會最終確定合約。
